Chef Richard and Barbara want to thank you for 28 years of patronage and support. We are starting our 29th year with appreciation for what we already have and renewed optimism for the future.
The café was established shortly before July 4th in 1994 by Chef Richard Ortiz and his wife, Barbara. Located on North Shore Drive, also known as highway 38, on the north side of Big Bear Lake in the California San Bernardino mountains, the café was once an old mining shack about the size and proximity of the current walk-in refrigerator. The building has expanded and morphed over the years and has housed a donut shop, pizzeria, breakfast diner, and other establishments during its history. In its current incarnation the building houses a small café and owners’ residence. A lovely stone outdoor patio is available for dining during seasonable weather.
Chef Richard and Barbara welcome feedback from our customers. The best way to communicate to us directly is via our email address, northshorecafe@yahoo.com. We are usually able to respond within a 24-hour period. Thank you.
